The vineyard

Domaine du Fleuve was established in 2007. During a trip to France, Lorraine Pelletier fell in love with the vineyards and decided to bring her passion back to the family land in Varennes that she shared with her husband, Paul Thomas.

The river and its banks play a central role in their family history. Walks, outdoor meals, and gatherings by the water naturally inspired the name of the estate, in tribute to these simple yet precious moments.

From the very first plantings, their son Louis became involved in the project and has passionately contributed to the vineyard’s development.

The estate spans 58 hectares, with 4 hectares dedicated to vines. The rest of the land is used for various crops, including wheat, soybeans, and green manure, contributing to soil balance.

In Varennes, about twenty grape varieties are cultivated, ranging from Pinot Noir to Saint-Pépin. Each year, the estate deepens its understanding of these varieties, helping to refine the quality of its wines, all produced exclusively from its own vineyards.

The vineyard continues to evolve with regular new plantings. In 2022, Vidal and Savagnin were notably added.
